Benefits Of Water And Air Purification

Water is a human necessity, we need water to drink for survival, for hygiene, for cleaning, and for cooking, and these are some of the main uses of water.  Our municipal tap water goes through purification before it comes out of our taps, this purification process does make the tap water safe to drink, although there are many different chemicals which are used in this purification process which are harmful to your overall health over an extended period of time!  This does not mean that the tap water is not safe to drink, it is a lot safer than catching rain water in a bucket or taking a bucket of water out of a river and drinking that, but over time the chemicals used to purify the water before it reaches the tap can cause health problems, such as type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart problems and other illnesses.  There are also micro-organisms in the water which could lead to disease.

Why Use a Water Filter?

Water FilterPeople with a very keen sense of taste will be able to taste the traces of chemicals used in the purification process, older copper pipes could also have corrosion which can also cause the water to have an unpleasant metallic taste.  Although tap water is not pure water, it is still the more economical choice.  Tap water is less harmful than bottled water to your family and the environment.  To improve the purity of tap water, make use of water filters.

How Water Filters Work

Water filters are generally composed of three sections.  Water filters are designed to filter the tap water.  There are many different types of water filters, but they all have the same concept.  The first section of the water filter is where you would place your tap water, directly from the tap.  In the case of a filter jug, you would fill up the area with tap water and wait for the water to filter through before you can use it.  Filters which fit directly onto the tap itself will filter the water as it flows out when the tap is turned on.

Looking at a water filter jug is easier to understand how the whole process works.  Once you have placed the maximum amount of tap water into the first compartment, normally situated at the top of the filter, the water then seeps through the filter slowly.  The process of filtering the water is slow as it is effective; most water filters will provide 75-90% pure water whereas your tap water is only approximately 65% pure.  The filter itself is designed to trap all micro-organisms, chemicals and other harmful substances into the filter, only allowing pure water to trickle down into the jug of the water filter.  Once there is enough water in the jug area of the water filter, you can then pour yourself a glass of pure water and enjoy the health benefits of drinking water.

Water filters which attach directly to the tap work in exactly the same manner, therefore the flow of water out of the tap is slower once you have attached a water filter to the tap.

Quality Water FiltersEconomically Viable

Water filters are the most economical way to provide your family with pure water.  Bottled water might seem the more effective answer, but bottled water companies are not able to remove as many contaminations as water filters, plus the bottles are harmful to the environment.  Bottled water also costs a lot more than tap water.  The initial cost of a water filter might seem high, but the long term maintenance combined with the health benefits of a water filter are a lot lower than purchasing bottled water.

Benefits of a Water Filter

Tap water which has passed through a water filter is pure water, or as close to pure water as it is possible to get.  The benefits of using a water filter include the following:

  • Better taste and smell to regular tap water
  • Benefit of reduced risk to disease such as cancer
  • Reduce illness such as gastrointestinal diseases
  • Removal of lead which is extremely harmful to the body
  • Convenience of pure water at the turn of your tap

The most effective way to improve on the overall health of you and your family is to use a water filter and only use the water that has passed through the water filter to drink and cook with.  The health benefits of drinking pure water are noticeable.  Pure water is often more refreshing than regular tap water, which would make it a lot easier to encourage children to drink water.

Important Facts to Remember About Water Filters

The most important factor to remember about your water filter is to replace the filter regularly as per the instructions provided, if you fail to replace the filter it will re-contaminate the water, possibly with more dangerous contaminations than before. Provide your family with refreshing pure water install a water filter and reap the benefits!

Air FilterAir Filters

Another necessary “evil” for human survival is breathing, and although you do not think about the process of breathing, or what you breathe, unless you or a family member suffers from asthma or allergies, there are many harmful contaminants in the air around us.

When it comes to providing the best conditions available for your family’s overall well-being, and being able to assist with members who suffer from asthma or allergies, the air in the home becomes important.  People, who have children and smoke, often change their lifestyles so that they only smoke outside of the house, and not in the car at all, although this does help, it is impossible to keep all the second hand smoke out of the house without an air filter.  This infiltration applies to all harmful contaminations which are in the air, whether it be pollens which cause allergies, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores or any of the many allergy inducing particles, the only way to keep them out of the air and away from family members who suffer with asthma or allergies is to install air filters.

How Do Air Filters Work?

Air filters work in much the same manner as a water filter, except that you do not have to physically place the air into the air filter.  The air filter has an inlet and outlet, it sucks the air in the room into the inlet which then pumps the air through the filter, which is designed to trap all the contaminations, and then the air is pumped out of the outlet, back into the room.  Although this is a lengthy process, the air is filtered at a quicker rate than the water, and the process is happening continually, so the air that you breathe is pure, and the carbon dioxide you exhale is made pure to inhale again by the air filter.

There are a large number of people who do not have a peaceful sleep at night; they might not wake up completely, so they do not realize that their sleep is disturbed.  This is often due to breathing related problems during sleep.  The brain does not go to sleep, and the body needs oxygen to carry on functioning, at night the air is more polluted than during the day because the plants also release carbon dioxide at night whereas during the day the sun changes the chemical compounds for the plants to release oxygen.

Many people who suffer with asthma find that late afternoon and early evening they are more susceptible to asthma attacks, because as the earth settles down for the night, the dust mites, and other contaminations in the air float around looking for a place to settle for the night, this means that there are areas of the house where there are more concentrations of these contaminations which would make breathing even more difficult.

Benefits of an Air Filter

Children and babies who are raised in homes with air filters show a significant increase in brain power as well as a stronger immune system compared to children of the same age groups who have not been in homes with air filters.

Although it is impossible to filter air to a 100% clean ratio, the vast difference between the air that has gone through an air filter and the air that has not is enough to provide better breathing for people who suffer from asthma or allergies as well as improve the overall health of your family.

Apart from the benefits experienced by people who suffer with allergies and asthma, breathing cleaner air has many advantages to your family and the health of your household, even your animals will be healthier as their bodies also require the cleaner air to function optimally.

Important Points For The Air Filter

Air FiltersAlthough you do not need to physically place the air into the air filter for the process to begin, you do need to remember that it is a filter, and therefore like any other filtering device; you would need to replace the filter on a regular basis to ensure that the air filter is able to work at its optimum.  Also take note that for the air filter to work at its optimum you would need to ensure that the windows and doors of the room are closed, else it will over work the air filter and it will be unable to filter the air correctly.

Air filters provide you with the cleanest air you can obtain, giving you and your entire household, animals included, a new lease on life, improving the health conditions of members of your family who suffer from asthma or allergies, and allowing everyone to have the most restful and rejuvenating sleep they are able to obtain!  For a great night’s sleep, a healthy family and many other health benefits, there is no other choice but to install an air filter!

The human body functions better when it is being fed pure and clean water and air respectively, therefore it is for your overall well-being a great idea to install an air filter!
